West Brom v Leicester Premier League Betting Preview 13/09/2020

West Brom v Leicester

With the Premier League season restarting this weekend, football fans across the land will be looking at the fixture list and licking their lips with anticipation of the action commencing. As we are still living in these strange times, fans are still not permitted to enter football grounds so all the Premier League games are being broadcast on TV, which makes betting on these games a lot more interesting. With this in mind, we are going to look at the West Brom v Leicester City match and see what stands out in the betting.

Sunday 13th September will see Leicester City head to The Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion in both team’s opening matches of the campaign. It looks like an extremely intriguing match, especially with in the betting, with Leicester City finishing 5th last season in the Premier League and West Brom finishing 2nd in The Championship and gaining promotion. Leicester fans will tell you though that their season was really a season of 2 halves, with the 1st half being fantastic and the 2nd half being inconsistent at best. If that form carries over from last season, then in this game absolutely anything if possible, which does make this West Brom v Leicester betting preview a little tricky to write, but we’ll still try and find you some great betting value and winning bet tips.

The first betting market we’re going to look at is the match winner betting market, and to us, it looks a little out, which means there is some betting value on offer. Looking at the betting odds, most bookies have Leicester as winners with most offering odds of 19/20, whilst Unibet and VBet are the market leading at the moment with both offering even money (1/1). We think this is a little on the short price for a team playing away from home, that has lost their left back to Chelsea, and as we mentioned, had an inconsistent finish to last season. West Brom are a nice price of 3/1 to win with a few bookies including BetVictor and Boylesports, but this bet doesn’t tickle our fancy either. We really do like the look of the 27/10 that Betfair are offering for the draw, and that is what our first betting tip is for the game.

If you are going to bet on the draw, then that also rules out many correct score bets, so we’re going to have a bet on this as well with our restricted options. We genuinely expect this match to be a rather caging affair and not really expecting a huge amount of goals, so we’re going straight for the 1-1 draw correct score bet. Some bookmakers are offering betting odds as short as 5/1 for the 1-1 draw, but if you take the 13/2 being offered from Bet365 then we do think there is some value in that bet.

We do think that West Brom may take the lead with Leicester pulling the scores level, so for the 1st goalscorer bet we are looking at the Matheus Pereira of West Brom for this bet. You can get odds of 12/1 from Bet365 and VBet for this, and looks promising. A bet we really do like as well is doubling up the 1st goalscorer bet with Jamie Vardy being the last goalscorer. For this double, head straight to Bet365 where you can get over 50/1 for that outcome, which we really do think is excellent value.
