With just two 2025 Formula 1 races remaining, McLaren’s Lando Norris leads the Driver’s Championship standings. The British driver has been incredibly consistent, winning seven races this season. Norris has a 24-point lead at the top of the Driver’s Championship, and could have extended this advantage with a second-place finish at the Las Vegas Grand Prix last weekend. However, Norris and fellow McLaren teammate Piastri were disqualified for technical regulation breaches. Piastri led the Championship earlier in the 2025 season, but inconsistent form has seen him drop further behind Norris. The Australians’ last victory came in August at the Dutch Grand Prix. Since then, he has secured just one podium finish. Piastri’s dip in form has allowed Verstappen to close the gap, and he is level with Piastri on 366 points. The four-time F1 World Champion has been a force in the second half of the 2025 campaign, notching eight consecutive podium finishes. 

Race Winner Bet

With Piastri’s form dipping in recent months, the battle for top spot is likely to be between Norris and Verstappen. Ultimately, Verstappen is the underdog due to his 24-point deficit to Norris. The Red Bull driver has shown incredible competitiveness to compete and take the Drivers’ Championship to the wire in recent weeks, with four Grand Prix wins in his last seven races. Verstappen also has a strong recent record at the Lusail International Circuit, winning the last two races here. The Dutch driver is the narrow favourite to win in Qatar, and AK Bets have 7/5 for a Verstappen win. The 2025 Formula 1 championship is Norris’ to lose currently, but the English racer has shown enough quality to get over the line recently. The McLaren driver has held off Verstappen’s charge by winning two of the previous three Grand Prixs. Norris will also want to bounce back from the disqualification in Vegas, and he will be fully aware that a victory in Qatar will all but cinch the 2025 title. While Verstappen and Norris have been battling it out at the top of the Driver’s Championship, another driver has been consistently racking up points for Mercedes. George Russell has been in solid recent form with some steady performances. The English driver was bumped up to second at the Vegas Grand Prix after Norris’ disqualification. As a result, Russell has now secured nine podium finishes in 2025, with three top-three places coming in his last three races. The Mercedes driver has also shown some previous promise in Qatar, with back to back fourth place finishes. However, with greater consistency in 2025, we can see Russell breaking into the top three on Sunday. Coral currently have the best value for a Russell podium at 6/5. 

Points Finish Bets

Further down the field, Isack Hadjar catches the eye for a potential points finish at the Qatar Grand Prix. The Racing Bulls driver is ninth in the Championship after securing 51 points in 2025. Hadjar has been streaky this season, putting together a run of three consecutive points finishes between May and June. The French-Algerian racer also secured points in three successive races again in the mid-point of the campaign, finishing third at the Dutch Grand Prix, followed by back-to-back 10th place finishes in Italy and Azerbaijan. Hadjar has sealed consecutive points positions in his previous two races, and we can see him getting points again in Qatar. At evens, Betfred have decent potential returns for Hadjar to finish in the top 10.
