Lincoln City v Liverpool League Cup Betting Preview 24/09/2020
The League Cup, or the Carabao Cup, always throws up not only interesting matches but also interesting results due to the big teams prioritising it less. One fixture that stands out that could maybe one that throws up a shock is Lincoln City v Liverpool. If this were an FA Cup fixture you would be looking at a Liverpool win, and a convincing win at that, but here we think there might be a bit of a chance of some sort of upset.
Certain bets are going to be tricky to pick out, as we fully expect Liverpool to basically put out their reserve team, with possibly the odd first team player looking for fitness. Lincoln City, however, are much more likely to put out a full team and hope to take the spoils. So writing this betting preview is quite hard as we can’t guarantee any of the line-ups, but we are still hopeful that we can find some potentially good betting tips and some decent value with those bets.
The first betting market we’re going to look at is the match winner market, and the odds make for some interesting reading. Firstly, if you are going to be betting on a Lincoln City win, then currently you need to head straight to BetVictor. At the time of writing this, BetVictor are offering the best odds for a Lincoln win of 17/1, quite generous when you see Boylesports and GentingBet are only offering 11/1. Bet365, Betfair and BetVictor are all offering a tasty looking 6/1 for the draw, and this is where our first bet will be going on this match. The odds on a Liverpool win vary as well quite a bit, with Novibet offering the best betting odds at the moment with 23/100, whilst 32Red Sport are as short as 1/6.
We won’t be trying to select a bet for any particular player scoring due to not knowing the starting line-ups, but we have a couple of other bets up our sleeves that we like the look of. As we have already picked out a draw as one of our betting tips, we think the correct score betting market is another where we can get some betting value. Although we have selected a draw we are ruling out a 0-0 bore draw, we expect goals. For the 1-1 draw you should be looking to bet with William Hill or Bet365 who have the best odds of 12/1 for that score. However, for our 2nd betting tip we are looking to be a bit more adventurous, we’re looking at the 2-2 draw betting. The odds vary hugely, with the tightest bookies (Betfair and Betfred) are offering 22/1 whilst GentingBet are offering the best odds of 33/1 at the moment. We do think that bet offers some tremendous betting value.
One final bet we think might be a worthwhile bet that covers the correct score betting is the ‘match result and both teams to score’ betting market. Obviously, we are backing the draw, but the ‘match drawn and both teams to score’ bet still offers some value and rules out having to guess the correct score if you are a more cautious bettor. BetVictor are offering the best odds here of 17/2, and again, if the bet comes in we do think it is another bet that offers some great potential betting value.
Hopefully, our betting tips win you some money, but we don’t promise any winning bets, we just share our views and opinions in our betting previews. We always try to find you genuine betting tips that offer value with the goal of bringing you long term profit. Also, to improve your chances of making long term betting profit, you should maybe head to our homepage as well to claim some free bets and betting offers which can make your betting go further. But please, only bet what you can afford, and bet responsibly, and good luck.
