Everton v Liverpool Premier League Betting Preview 17/10/2020

After the International break, which interrupted the Premier League season, all eyes are now back on this weekend’s action. As per usual, there are some great matches taking place, but probably the most exciting and biggest fixture of the weekend is the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool. This Everton v Liverpool match is the 1st Premier League match of the weekend, kicking off at 12.30 pm on Saturday, 17th October at Goodison Park, and is live on BT Sport.
Both teams have had a good start to the season, Everton having the better start, having won all 4 of their matches and sitting happily at the top of the league table at present. Liverpool had won their first 3 matches until the form book went straight out of the window, and they got hammered 7-2 by Aston Villa. It certainly does make for an interesting match for betting, and one we have decided to delve into with this Everton v Liverpool betting preview.
The odds are quite interesting, and the first bet we’ll look at is the match result betting market. Liverpool are strong favourites with the bookies, and the best odds you will find for a Liverpool win currently are 9/10 with Unibet. For the Everton win, you should also head to Unibet, as they are the top price at 3/1. However, we are avoiding those, as our first betting tip for this match is a draw. Currently, Bet365 and Betfair have the best odds of 16/5, which we think is some cracking betting value, so we recommend that as our first bet.
We also expect this to be an action-packed match with plenty of end-to-end play, shots on goal, and, with that, goals. So the next bet we will be looking at is the correct score market. As we have said, we expect goals, so we are advising taking the 12/1 BetVictor and Bet365 on the correct score being 2-2. If you would like to take a less risky bet, though involving the draw, you can also bet on both teams to score, and if the game ends in a draw, that bet gets 15/4 with Bet365 and BetVictor. If you do, however, like that bet, don’t go to the single bet market. Head to Bet365 and place a double bet, with the first bet being the draw and the 2nd bet being both teams to score. Amazingly, you will get better odds; in fact, you can get over 5/1, quite a difference and another great bet for value in our opinion.
Another interesting betting market for this match for us is the anytime goalscorer betting market, and one we are also looking to bet on. So far this season, Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin has got off to a flying start, scoring 6 goals in Premier League matches, including a hat-trick against West Brom, another 3-goal hat-trick in the League Cup against West Ham United and a goal against Wales on his England International debut. We expect Calvert-Lewin to pop up on the scoresheet, and you can get 13/8 for him with a range of bookmakers, including Betfair, on him scoring anytime in the match. Mo Salah also carries odds of Evens to score anytime with 888Sport and Unibet, and if you feel adventurous, you could bet on both in a double and get over 4/1 with Betfair.
We hope you have enjoyed our Everton v Liverpool betting preview and that you find our musings and betting tips interesting. Although we shared our betting tips with you for free, it is worth remembering that we never claim to offer guaranteed winning bets; we just try to find bets that offer true betting value, which we like the look of and think have a good chance of providing long-term betting profit. We also suggest that you take a look at our homepage and use some of the free bets listed there to help your betting go further. After all, it’s much better betting with the bookmaker’s money instead of your own. We will urge you, though, to please remember to gamble responsibly, to bet what you can afford, to keep it fun, and, not to forget, good luck.
